I was sent a free copy of More Than Meets the Eye by Karen Witemeyer in exchange for an honest review. This has in no way affected my opinions on the book.
This is a Fiction Book and its based on a love story mixed with mystery and suspense. Here is a basic summary of the book:
Seeking justice against the man who destroyed his family, Logan Fowler arrives in Pecan Gap, Texas, to confront the person responsible. But his quest is derailed when, instead of a hardened criminal, he finds an ordinary man with a sister named Evangeline—an unusual beauty with mismatched eyes and a sweet spirit that he finds utterly captivating.
I have never read a book by Karen Witemeyer and I usually read books by my list of authors that I have read for years and years. I was slacking on the fact that I needed to expand my horizons with authors. Im so glad I did that with Karen. This book was well rounded and Karen does not disappoint. We are talking drama, humor, and entertainment. Everything about the characters was mesmerizing and I couldn’t stop reading on. If you have heard great things about the book, Im here to tell you they are all true.
From the very beginning I became attached to the characters. Usually it takes me a chapter or two to get the background of the characters but this book drew me right in. Usually this only happens with Nicholas Sparks. I fell for the characters like they were a part of my family
Its very hard to have the perfect female lead but that’s what Karen achieved when it came to Evangeline. She was different, and endured criticism from everyone in her small town. She persevered and did not allow any of this to affect her. She used her distinctness to stand out and show all those around her how to be just that…different from the rest.
Everyone loves an action book with romance but the perfect thing about this book was the back it brought in suspense and mystery. This is what drew me in every time I turned the page. This is the perfect book to read because their were so many different stories and aspects that anyone can hold on to and appreciate.
Overall this book brought out all the emotions and feels. I cried with this book, laughed until I teared and learned many lessons on life along the way. The characters developed along with me by overcoming their problems and gaining their confidence. If you are in need of a book recommendation or just want to try a different author you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be looking for more Karen Witemeyer books because she just gained another fan!
